Acolyte Newsletter - August 2010

Hello Everyone!

Thanks again for volunteering your time this month. As always, your contribution and flexibility are greatly appreciated. We couldnšt do it without you.

If you can help out, please stop by the Vestry on Sunday mornings as we may need your services. If you are unable to honor an assignment in August, please remember to let us know. Leave a message on the voicemail in the Vestry or again, contact me, Jeffrey or Kathy.

We are still looking for new recruits. Išve emailed two possibilities but havenšt heard back from them yet. If you know of anyone who you think might be a great member, please let me know.

Some Reminders:

Please remember that Gospel Torches and Servers should follow the Administrative Verger in the outgoing procession. The chalices and clergy will follow. This looks a bit neater then everyone trying to climb over one another to get into position.

Crucifers (if you have no additional assignment) Please remember to speak to the North Server and pick up a flagon of wine. Then proceed to the North Pillar and refill chalices until the North Server can relieve you.

I'm thinking of having the Server training on August 15th or 22nd. It should last an hour or so. Please let me know if you'd like to attend.

Thanks again. I hope you are enjoying your Summer. Congregation Sunday is coming up on September 12th and St. Francis is on October 3rd.

Cheers,

Rodney

REMINDERS:

  • Crucifers, Torches, Gospel Torches: Please line up after the administrators and take communion from the Choir Station.
  • Crucifers: Assuming you have no other duties during Communion, please speak to the North Server after receiving Communion and pick up a flagon of wine. Then proceed to the North Pillar and refill chalices until the North Server can relieve you.
  • Torches: Assuming you have no other duties during Communion, please go to the Choir Aisle after receiving Communion to get ready for the retiring procession.
  • Gospel Torches: After receiving Communion, one of you will go to the North Rail to administer Gluten-free Bread, the other can return to her/his seat (assuming you have no double-duties).

Thanks again. I'm still recovering from New York but I hope you are enjoying your Summer.

Cheers,
Rodney
